Nothing Worthwhile Was Ever Easy.
By: MoonPig | March 11th, 2008Nothing Worthwhile Was Ever Easy - that was the closing statement from our new American owner, Tom Glick at a fans forum at Pride Park last night. Tom Glick, Adam Pearson and Paul Jewell fielded questions from season ticket holders in what was a very honest and open meeting. Here are some of the main headlines:

* Could be at least 7 players in, up to 9 - and a similar amount moving on.
* Jewell aims to have his squad assembled and ready to roll by the end of June…
* …in time for the pre-season camp and friendly games in the states (Detroit)
* New home and away kits next season – every season (boooooo!)
Adam Pearson stated that Derby County would change both kits every season to compete financially in the same way every premier league team does. I don’t agree that every premier league team change both kits every season. In fact, I thought there was a rule against that unless the sponsors and/or kit manufacturers changed. Certainly given the fact that we’re going to
be a championship club there’d be no need for us to use what teams in a different division to us!
Can any supporters of Prem/Champ teams support the claims that every team change their kits each season? I’d like to put together an argument for not changing so often.
…And if Paul Jewell ever retires from football management, he’s definitely got a career in after dinner speaking. No tenuous jokes about recent performances and comedy, please.
