Everton 1 - 0 Derby
By: MoonPig | April 6th, 2008It might be another defeat but Derby played with some real skill and determination, passing the ball around with some confidence - with Hossam Ghaly a class act - easily man of the match. The goal typically came from a aircraft-hanger sized gap in the middle of our defence which the one and only Leon Osman capitalised on and finished sweetley.
We deserved a point from this game but if anyone from Everton had to score a goal against us then I’m glad it’s Leon, after his great loan spell at Derby a few years ago… (see picture)
Jewell said (audio link here): “If we’d played like that all season we probably wouldn’t be where we are. For passing and movement we were excellent, we just didn’t have the killer pass. We didn’t have the quality at times but I couldn’t ask for more from the players. We pushed Everton all the way and I’m pleased with the performance, just disappointed not to get something out of the game.”
Interviews, goals (singular, this time), pictures and other post-match articles to follow….

That always happens when you get relegated - no pressure see - ask any fan that has seen their team get relegated. You will probably win all of your remaining matches now. I know Jewell doesn’t want the record of the lowest Premiership points by a relegated team. So there is an incentive!!

Fingers crossed…! The performances are there now and hopefully we can at least get 5 more points! Please!
