The Backlash. The Rant…
By: MoonPig | March 10th, 2008When you’re bottom of the table, with a goal difference that does actually make Alan Hansen twitch that last thing you want to do is to be the first team to play Chelsea and Manchester United after the weekend they’ve had.
Speaking of Manchester United, I’d like to make a quick comment about Ronaldo after the weekends events. Sir Purple nose blames the referee (how /dare/ he give a penalty to a visiting team!) for the defeat yet from the highlights I saw, his players had ample opportunity to bury Portsmouth but didn’t take their chances!
But let me deal with this beauty first: “Ronaldo also revealed a lack of protection from officials had made him “scared” to play his natural game.”
Would this be the natural game where, when 3-1 up against Derby he sees fit to ‘trip himself up’ on thin air in the penalty box? (see below) I didn’t hear Sir Purple Nose having a go at him for that. Okay, it’s not like the 4th goal ended our chances of a comeback any more than the first three goals, but it’s still not fair play.
It’s a shame because Ronaldo’s obviously a world-class player and someone as skilful as him shouldn’t need to ‘win’ penalties in this way. Still, good old Jose Mourinho called it for me last season: “There’s no pressure on Manchester United. If they play well, they will win. If they don’t play well, they will get a penalty and still win.” Perhaps that’s why Sir Alex was so annoyed, no one told Martin Atkinson that rule!
Roll on the weekend. Remember folks, we’re unbeaten in one and going for two clean-sheets in a row. That’s the spirit! Fingers crossed Cudicini is in goal for Chelsea against us on Wednesday and Rio Ferdinand in goal for United on the Saturday. Kayode Odejayi on Emergency loan, anyone…? anyone…?

I expect this scoreline Chelsea 5-0 Derby County. Anything else will be unacceptable unless its 6, 7, 8 lol lol lol.
As for Carlo. He IS the second best ‘keeper in the Premiership, behind Petr Cech and he just got outjumped by a giant on Saturday.
See you at the Bridge on Wednesday

It’s hard to like Ronaldo. He has about as much ability as anyone could ever want/need and plays for the biggest team in the world (well, top two at the very least) yet he still acts like an arrogant cheating bitch. Shame.
